Her top-notch pedigree includes her Grand Champion Western Pleasure sire, Ratchin Spectacle, and the legendary Native Dancer, Raise a Native, Easy Jet and Easy Jet Too on her dam's side. She has been a pleasure since the day she was born. She is sweet natured and extremely bright. She halters and leads easily, lifts her feet for cleaning, stands for grooming and bathing, loads and is eager to learn and please. She is a beauty and a sweetheart. This horse will make someone a wonderful companion.
Derby is just out of training with Michael Goheen of SouthPaw Ranch (see our links for their website). We chose Michael because of his gentle and respectful nature with horses. He has worked ranches in Montana and Texas, apprenticed with Master Horse Trainer Craig Cameron and recently worked with the late Ray Hunt to enhance his own training. Derby has excelled under his instruction. She's walking, trotting, loping, backing, and walking a diagonal off the leg and has a beautiful stop. On the trail, she's going through obstacles, jumping over logs with ease and side-passing to close and open gates. She is a confident horse that Michael says "will always take care of her rider".
