C4 Ranch Series
Children's Books
I have combined my love of photography with the engaging personalities of the C4 Ranch herd and written stories so children can see horses just being horses. Each book contains numerous photographs of the horses with a short story. They are first readers but are appropriate for preschool as well because the photos tell the story. The first book in the series is Party In the Pasture! This is the story of Jackson's first birthday. With the exception of some pictures of Jackson as a foal, the photographs in the book were taken on his actual birthday. It was a beautiful Texas day and the horses celebrated by playing games like follow-the-leader and tag. They had a splashing contest, races and danced! Watching and photographing them was a complete joy.
The second in the series is in the works and stars Derby. Derby's parents are beautifully marked Paint horses and Derby is solid sorrel. This story is Derby's quest to understand why she is different. In her search she discovers that she is special in her own right.
As an added bonus, each book includes a small glossary in back defining some equine related terms.
